Past Hurts

Updated: Aug 4, 2021

It crept up without knowing Slowly but surely choking like a weed Something so good and promising She broke the solemn creed

An agreement to be good To do all she new was right To confront the past hurts To do what she might

By ignoring and pushing through She broke herself Worst than that She broke you

How to make it right? She will work at it She will confront the past For a future with you so bright

A promise of happiness A promise to move on She sees you as her soldier The one she counts on

She is sorry for the drama Sad for the the burden you’ve had to carry You’re the one she truly wants The man she wants to marry

If you can love her if you can see That although she’s sad She will be stronger A survivor she will be

She knows want she wants It took too long I know She wants you, You Above anything else

She is me
