Summer

Updated: Aug 5, 2021

Shrieks of laughter punctuate the soft waves crashing along the shore

Running, dashing, jumping in and out of the playful ocean

Small feet with tiny toes daring the sea to touch them

Droplets shining like tiny diamonds as we splash in the shallows

The early sun caressing our shoulders like a warm morning hug

These are the days we will remember fondly

Building sandcastles, making moats, decorating with shells

Bundled up in hooded terry cloth after rinsing away the salt

Happy exhaustion, my greatest treasures sleepy on the car ride home
